HAG H05

I’ve had an H04 chair for a few years now and I’m very satisfied with it. However, I’ve decided that I want the headrest now and would like to switch the “comfort arms” I have with the “swingback” comfort arms. Can this be done?

I think you meant to say you have the “H05″ chair. The H04 does not offer swingback arms. If indeed you do have the H05 chair, you can purchase the swingback arms and switch out your comfort arms.

You can also add a headrest as well.

I need to disassemble a HAG 05. I am not that unskilled in manual labor but could not find a way to take apart. I think you have to push the right buttons. Any suggestions/instructions?

Hi Yorck, first remove the arms from underneath the chair control (two screws). After you’ve done this, you will notice three small holes towards the back of the control where the back goes into it. Take somthing like a thin screw driver and press on a little pin that is located in the center hole. At the same time pull back on the J bar to release it. After you have done this adjust the seat slider as far to the front of the seat as possible. In between the control and actual seat you will notice that there is a small pin that keeps the control from sliding all the way out. Use a flat tool(flat head screw driver) to push up on that pin (careful not to push to hard) it can break. At the same time slide the seat back and it should slide right out. The cylinder base and casters are pressure fitted good old fashion muscle is needed to remove those parts.

nino seems to know these chairs very well. i would offer one bit of caution – do not stand on the base and pull up to separate the base from the lift or seat. this can cause the lift to separate and that is no good. put the chair on its side and use a rubber mallet and WD40 if you have to. i had to take a few of these chairs apart and learned this the hard way when i broke the lift on the first chair. a new lift can be used, i just would have preferred to not buy the new lift.

All HAG chairs offer a standard foam. The stability offered by this foam allows users the full benefit of the ergonomic design. A lot of manufacturers promote memory cushions or other forms of cushioning as an ergonomic solution. The problem with these is that they do not provide support and the body tends to slouch into poor posture. Many of these large, fluffy chairs are very very comfortable, but not very ergonomic. It seems that often times large cushions are used to mask a poor design.

Neutral Posture is one manufacturer that tends to have more cushioning yet still is very focused on ergonomic design. They have quite a few models but the more task-oriented seating is in the NPS line. Below i have included a link to a great site with reviews of these chairs.

Help, I have owned a HAG 5200 swingback/headrest model for years and the lift has broken. Any ideas who in South East can do repairs?

You should be able to do the repair yourself with no problem. Just buy a new lift from any authorized dealer, who can walk you through the replacement process. You simply need to tap the existing lift out of the base, disconnect that lift from the seat, and then place the new lift in. The whole process takes about five minutes.

Hi HAG people. I have a HAG Capisco that is about 3 years old and the back squeaks when I lean back or put weight on certain parts of the seat. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything I can do to stop it?

hello. thanks to one of the earlier posts I was able to remove the arm from the main part of the chair; however, what I need to do now is remove the sliding padded part of the arm from the metal part because it needs to be replaced. I cannot figure out how to do that! There doesn’t seem to be any way to separate these two pieces! I can only assume there must be, or they wouldn’t have sold me just the padded part, would they? any help would be appreciated.

I have a HAG H05 and the seat has become a little wobbly. Does anyone have any guidance on repairing this problem? The wobble seems to be at the point where the lift attaches to the bottom of the seat.
